Caitlin Worthington – April Artist of the Month (aotm)
Through Caitlin’s Eyes
Name
Caitlin Worthington
About
Caitlin Worthington is an amazing, young photographer out of Australia, that beautifully captures her subjects. I can’t help but be drawn in by the eyes in almost every photo she takes. It reminds me of how the native americans believed that a photograph would steal your soul… looking at her pics, i think they were right. Every thought, every feeling is captured for that instant in time, and if you can read the eyes, you can know.
Not to get off on a tangent, but i wonder what we are seeing when we look in the eyes? How do we decipher feelings by looking at eyes? If a person is sad, It’s not like there eyes become more white, so what is it? You might think it is in the fascial muscles, but if you cut out the eyes, you can tell there is some emotion but no soul or heart. It’s just vacant and mechanical.
Back to Caitlin, i absolutely love her work and i can’t wait to see more from her in the future. Thank you to Caitlin for giving permission to post her photos. Please don’t forget to check out her portfolio.

Caitlin’s Work
HENRY 2009
This photograph of my brother is very personal to me to describe a deeper reason for it is something I’m not prepared to do. But I’m very close to my brother and shortened I feel this represents his inner darkness and fear of the world while foreshadowing his beauty around it.
TAYA-BEACH
It represents my feeling towards the models persona (being a close friend) this photo to me symbolizes her freedom and open caring mind to the world and every one in it.
RECESS IS OVER
The photo is meant to conceptualize a school girl whom is a bit of a day dreamer and not one to follow the rules. I believe that subconsciously I’ve interpreted my childhood here.
